The Jewel Box

We are so excited to launch our new website and our first blog! We can’t wait to share our ideas, inspiration and project reveals with you and we hope you will join us for the journey.

One of the first steps in our design process is looking over the plans and deciding where the focal areas and “wow” moments will be. One room that always receives this honor is the powder room. Whether its ever-so-classic shiplap or an incredible antique mirror, E always says the powder room is the jewel box of the home. We see this area of the home as an opportunity to take a risk, experiment with color or contrast, add some fun, personal art and pick some especially beautiful fixtures.

We’ve been lucky enough to have clients who allow us to take these risks, and the results have been dreamy.

In our Country Lane project, antique brass was the star of the show. We love the open marble vanity with this antique mirror from Joyce Horn Antiques.

In our Forest Glen home, Segreto Finishes hand-painted this lovely detail on all the walls. Complimented by the hammered brass sink and custom vanity, this is one of our favorites.

Can you tell that we’re into brass? This Rice Boulevard project shows another way to bring some interest to a powder room, fun floors! We love this Ann Sacks concrete (?) tile with all the beautiful brass accents and Segreto’s wax-finish plaster walls.

Whether its on the floors, on the walls or in the details, make your powder room a space your guests will remember. Get out there and find a wallcovering you love, a flooring you can’t live without, or a one-of-a-kind mirror. Because its usually such a small space, it’s a little easier to justify a splurge 😉
